Thought you might want to see this big pile of aluminum shavings from having drilled out the backing strips the night before. | ||||||
My goal for today was to install the grommets and studs on the cowl. With the unibit, I drilled the cowls to 15/32"" for the grommets. | ||||||
First you push the steel grommet into
the hold. Then you use the below grommet installation tool to slide
the retaining ring on the back of
the
grommet.

Then you slip the stud through the grommet, using the special wrench below. | ||||||

Sorry for the blurry picture, but the grommets & studs are installed on the cowls. Not a difficult job, assuming you have the special tools. As always, having the right tool makes all the difference. | ||||||
